A child is triaged from a knee injury sustained from a mortar explosion as he and his family flee Mosul's Old City on June 30, 2017. A day after the Iraqi government declared the Islamic State was defeated in Mosul, heavy fighting persisted while newly liberated residents still fled the Old City neighborhood in droves. With temperatures reaching 115 degrees, many needed medical attention for heat exhaustion.
